Unique Guest Book Ideas

The point of the guest book at an event was once to get the guest's name and address so he could be sent a thank you and have a form of correspondence. Nowadays guest books are typically used simply as a memento and often included in a scrapbook or other form of memory keepsake. Instead of just using a simple blank-paged album or guest book, you can choose a unique alternative to continue the theme or set the tone of the wedding.

Quilt

Have a large quilt made by a friend or family member. It's nice to have the person or couple's name(s) or initials embroidered in the center. Have guests sign on the quilt with fabric pens. Hang the quilt from a wall to display it.

Wooden Bench

Get a wooden bench or a long wooden plank that can be made into a bench. Have guests write or carve messages and well wishes into the bench along with their names. After the event, paint a sealant or glaze on the bench to protect the signatures and carvings. Place the bench in your home as a nice decorative piece that you can use and look at fondly with wonderful memories.

Photo Booths

Rent a photo booth for your event and ask guests to go into the photo booth and take a set of photos to place in your guest-book pages. Leave a chalkboard and chalk or a whiteboard and dry-erase markers so they can write their names on the board and hold it up in the photos. This way they don't have to sign anything; they just leave their photos on a table to be inserted in an album later.
