Troubleshooting A Bosch Washer

Bosch makes extremely energy-efficient washers, exceeding federal standards by 102 percent, and has become the most water-efficient brand in the United States. Most units come with 15 wash cycles, a stain remover option and and allergy rinse option. Despite all of their great features, however, you will still likely have some questions regarding your washer. Troubleshoot the problems on your own before spending money on repairs.

Door

If the door of your Bosch Washer will not open, select No Final Spin on the control panel. If so, select the Drain or Spin options. You may also be experiencing a power failure, in which case the program will begin once you restore the power. If you need to remove the laundry during a power failure, contact customer service on do it. (See the manual in the References section for the phone number.) The door locks for safety during a program; wait for it to end to open the door.

Programs

If a program will not start on your Bosch washer, make sure you've pressed the Start/Pause button. If the program still will not begin, the indicator light end lights up and the display panel flashes E:01, you have not closed the door properly. Make sure no laundry has stuck to the door. Listen for a click when the door closes correctly.

Water

If water will not enter the washing machine or your detergent does not wash away, make sure you've turned on the water tap, than push the Start/Pause button. If the indicator light Spin lights up and the display panel flashes E:02 or E:03, it may indicate a kinked or pinched supply hose, clogged strainers in the supply hose or low water pressure. If you cannot see water in the drum of the washer, nothing has necessarily gone wrong: The water level has just dropped below the visible part of the drum. If the indicator light Rinse lights up and the display panel flashes E: 04 and no water remains in the tub, the pump has probably become blocked by suds. Use less detergent for future washes. Also, always use HE detergents for your High Efficiency washer. In the meantime, clean the drainage pipe and/or hose.
