Dressing up in group costumes for Halloween is a fun way to have an unforgettable experience with your friends, coworkers or family members. There are a multitude of funny homemade Halloween costumes for groups that take a minimal amount of planning and preparation to execute. Ideas include the Deal or No Deal cast, a group of dominoes, game show contestants and nuclear waste workers.
Deal or No Deal
Dressing up as Howie Mandel and the beautiful models from the game show Deal or No Deal is a funny idea for a group with one male and two or more females.
First, all of the ladies should go shopping together to pick out matching dresses. This would also be a really good time to use bridesmaids dresses again, if possible. The dresses should be eye-catching and elegant. Don't forget to pick out matching earrings, necklaces and shoes. Next, if the "Howie" lookalike isn't already bald, he will need to purchase a hairless wig. He will also need a small piece of fake hair to glue under his lip and a dark suit to complete the look.
Next, make the cases for the women. Cut out a Styrofoam block the size of a standard briefcase and spray paint it silver or wrap it in aluminum foil. Affix a black strap to the top of the case with long thin pushpins or nails to make the handle. Use black electrical tape to affix the case numbers directly to the cases.
Have the Howie look-alike act boisterous while the ladies smile and model the cases to get laughs throughout the night.
Dominoes
If your group does not have a lot of time to come up with a group costume, then going as a set of dominoes is an easy last-minute idea.
Have everyone in the group dress in all black. Cut out large white circles of either construction paper or poster board and pin them to yourselves in domino patterns. You can then schedule the laughs around one person leaning into the rest of the group and the dominoes falling over one by one.
Game Show Contestants
A group of game show contestants is also another easy last-minute group Halloween costume idea. Everyone in the group can wear regular clothes or shirts with funny sayings on them. Place a giant name tag a la "The Price Is Right" on everyone and have each person act very animated and enthusiastic when the group is all together.
Nuclear Waste Workers
Have everyone in your group dress in white or orange overalls. Use stencils to create large black numbers on the backs of everyone and write the words "Nuclear Waste Disposal Unit" under the numbers, along with a biohazard symbol. Have everyone wear different accessories, such as black masks or helmets, boots, gloves or goggles. You can all also carry Styrofoam containers with the biohazard symbol marked on them or the words "Hazardous Materials."
