Learn open a combo lock.
A combination lock can keep your locker protected between classes or assist in chaining your bike to a public bike as well as many other locking tasks. Unfortunately, if you forget the combination you might have to break the lock open to get to whatever the lock is safeguarding. There is a safe and free way that you try to hack the lock before getting out your bolt cutters though. The best part is the hack doesn't require any tools so you can go try it out immediately.
Instructions
1. Pull the rounded clamp of the lock up away from the dial. The clamp is the arched part of the lock that hangs on the item being locked.
2. Rotate the dial slowly to the right until you hear a click. Try to maintain even speed as you turn so you don't miss the click.
3. Move the dial to the right two numbers past the point where you heard the click. This is the first number of the combination.
4. Turn the dial to the left until it stops to find the second number. You may have to turn the dial one full revolution before feeling it stop.
5. Rotate the dial back to the right until the shank click up and the lock opens. The dial will move stiffly so make sure you hold the shank firmly to prevent dropping it down.
