Take Dents Out Of Leather

Never fold leather handbags, pants or coats.

Leather couches, briefcases, handbags and seats are all susceptible to creases and dents. The dents do not harm the leather's surface, but will leave behind an unattractive finish. If left in a humid environment, the leather dents will resolve themselves over time. A quicker solution is to use dry heat to remove the dents and creases. Cover the leather product during the dent removal to prevent any burns or holes. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Remove any water from the iron's reservoir, turn it onto a low setting and leave it to heat up for five minutes.

2. Set a T-shirt, kitchen towel or any other piece of cotton onto the leather dent. The cotton protects the leather from scorch marks or damage.

3. Hold the warm iron on the cotton for 10 seconds. Do not allow any steam to come in contact with the leather.

4. Lift up the iron, remove the cloth and examine the dent. If it is not removed, repeat the process of covering the dent and applying heat from the iron in 10 second intervals.

5. Apply a thin layer of leather conditioner to the affected area with a soft cloth to restore its appearance and prevent any future dents or creases.
