Use Yahoo Briefcase for Storing and Accessing Your Files
Yahoo briefcase allows members to store files and pictures. You can use them for sharing files with other members, or keep them private for your own storage and viewing. Yahoo briefcase is simple for beginning users, and is great for online storage so that you can access your files away from home.
Instructions
1. Open your Internet Web browser and go to the Yahoo briefcase (see Resources below). You may already use your existing Yahoo user name and password if you have one. If you do not have an account, you will need to register, but membership is free.
2. Log in to your account with your user name and password once you have registered or if you already have an account. Click on the "add files" that shows on the web page.
3. Select a folder to place your files in or create a name for your new folder. You may also create multiple folders if you need them. You can create your folder name according to what kinds of files you will be storing. One folder could be "family pictures," while another folder could be called "my resume," etc. Then click "select."
4. Click the browse button to find the file of your choice that you would like to upload. Make sure that you know where the file is located on your computer so that you can quickly access it. You can choose up to six files at a time to upload. Members may upload up to 15MB at a time. Click the upload button once you have selected your files.
5. Wait for the files to upload. The dialogue on the screen will say "uploading files." When it is finished, it will state "upload complete," and the bar will be solid. You then can continue to upload more files, or go back to your folder.
6. Decide if you would like your files to be public, if you would like to share them with other users, or make them private for your own viewing. You can store up to 30MB of files for free, or pay a fee to purchase 5MB of more file storage.
