Founded in a Manhattan loft in 1941, Coach manufactures fine quality leather goods including woman's purses and handbags. The company started with just a few bags and has grown a large inventory of various designs, colors and styles. If you don't purchase your Coach bag from a Coach store, Macy's, Nordstrom, Dillard's or another reputable department store, you run the risk of possibly buying a fake bag. The imitators are getting more sophisticated in replicating Coach bags, but if you know what to look for, you can easily spot a fake. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Examine the "C" logos on the outside of the Coach bag. All the logos should be in a straight line and touching each other. Each logo should be identical.
2. Check the zipper pull. An authentic Coach bag will have small letters "YKK" on the zipper pull, while fake ones will use a cheaper brand zipper and will not have the lettering.
3. Look at the leather strap for the stamped word "Coach." It will be visibly stamped into the leather. The imitation purses may sew the name on. The leather should be high quality, soft leather, not stiff.
4. Note the stitching on the bag. Coach bags have perfectly even stitching all around the bag. Fake bags often have sloppy or uneven stitching.
5. Check the lining of the bag. The lining should have the same "C" logos in a perfect line just like the outside.
