Barbie dolls are one of the most popular girl's toy and have been almost since they came out. One of the things that makes them so popular is the fact that they can be dressed in the current fashions. This is also the problem with Barbies. It is hard to organize and carry Barbies and their accessories from one location to another. However, it is easy to put together a personalized Barbie carrying bag that will eliminate the confusion and travel issue. This project should take from 1 to 4 hours depending on the size of the collection.
Instructions
1. Count how many Barbies and accessories you have that you need to carry around. This will determine the size of the Barbie carrying case. Divide up the Barbies and their accessories by style, color, age, or whatever system you want to use. Once you see how many different items and collections you have, you will be able to see what size bag you will need.
2. Purchase a duffel bag, suitcase, or other bag to keep the Barbies in. It should be sturdy enough to withstand some bumping, but lightweight enough to carry around easily. The more pockets the better for compartmentalizing the different items.
3. Outline some letters on the felt. You could write "Barbie" or the name of the person who will be using the bag, or some other phrase. Cut the letters out with the scissors and pin to the bag in an arrangement. Sew the letters onto the bag. Sew around the felt in an outline so that they do not get pulled off the bag easily.
4. Download some pictures of Barbie from the Internet and print them out on the iron-on fabric. Transfer the pictures onto the bag using an iron and a towel. Make sure to use pictures with bright colors and dark outlines for the best effect against the fabric of the bag. If the bag you are using is leather then do not try to iron on any pictures.
5. Take the Barbies and accessories and place them in the different pockets of the bag. If you have previously sorted the accessories then this step will be very easy. Usually it is best to put the Barbies in one pocket, the clothes in another, the accessories in another, and the brushes in a different bag. If there are a lot of pockets you can separate out the different kinds of clothes. If not, then Zip-lock bags make great pockets to use inside the bag.
