Home Remedies For Cleaning Light Brown Or Tan Leather Purses

Rubbing Alcohol


If stains are not removed early on, they may bear a permanent mark on the purse, which you can remove with rubbing alcohol. Use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol and wipe off the stain.


Linseed Oil and Distilled White Vinegar


Leather purses develop permanent wear and tear after significant usage, making it crucial to replenish the lost qualities of leather at regular intervals. A good home-based solution is mixing linseed oil with distilled white vinegar in a 2:1 ratio. Once the solution is thoroughly mixed, apply it circularly on the leather purse. Avoid using strong chemicals or excessive water directly on the leather purse surface. In addition, avoid direct sunlight contacting the leather as much as possible to avoid fading leather and causing cracks to develop.


Cream of Tartar and Vinegar


Mix tartar cream with three times the quantity of lemon juice and apply it on stains. Cover the stain with the paste for eight to 10 minutes before removing it with a soapy water solution. Allow the bag to dry completely. When cream of tartar and vinegar are mixed, they become a nonabrasive cleaner that can remove strong stains like blood.


Dishwashing Soap

Cornstarch helps remove oil stains from leather purses. Rub the starch on the stain and allow the starch to absorb the oil. An alternative for corn starch is talcum powder.


Toothpaste


Apply toothpaste directly on stains on the leather purse. Rub it gently and wipe it off with a wet sponge.
