When you are traveling, or if you simply enjoy keeping your jewelry safely organized, it is always a good idea to have a jewelry carrying case. Like your jewelry, the carrying case should be a reflection of your personality and individual style. Making a jewelry carrying case is simple and can be done in an afternoon. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Gather all of the items that you will need and place them in your workspace. Make sure that you have enough velvet and glue to cover the interior of the shoebox.
2. Place the velvet into the shoebox and determine how much needs to be cut off to fit within the interior space. You will want to use black velvet because it is easiest to see your jewelry when in a dimly lit room. Cut the velvet into the appropriate shape and then glue the velvet to the bottom of the shoebox.
3. Press down onto the velvet after you have glued it to make sure that the fabric adheres to the shoebox. Gather the rest of the velvet that you did not use, and place it to the side.
4. Measure the depth of the interior shoebox, and then cut as many strips of cardboard you need to separate your jewelry. An example would be if you only need to store necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings, then you would want to cut three strips of cardboard.
5. Wrap these strips of cardboard with the unused black velvet and securely glue these dividers into your new jewelry case.
6. Decorate the exterior of the shoebox any way that you seem fit. Allow the exterior of the jewelry box to be an expression of your personality.
