Make Pedal Boards

For those of you who enjoy playing the electric guitar, a pedal board is something you don't want to do without. The purpose of a pedal board is to keep your guitar pedals organized and confined so they are easy to play yet don't take up a lot of room. For those of you who don't wish to spend the money to buy a pedal board, you can make one on your own.

Instructions

1. Find a briefcase that will work well for your pedal board. The briefcase can be any material. The main concern is the depth of the interior, which should not be more than 1 1/2 to 2 inches deep. This allows you to reach your pedals more easily with your feet.

2. Remove the hinges and latches from the briefcase. Try to do this carefully so you can use the holes again. You may have to use a very small screwdriver to do so.

3. Replace the latches and hinges with case latches. You may be able to use the same holes left by the hinges and latches you removed in Step 2.

4. Tear out the lining from the inside of the briefcase. You may have to start the process by making a hole in the lining with a pair of scissors or a knife, and then rip out the rest. You can keep the interior of the briefcase plain or paint it any color you choose.

5. Install the bottom of the Velcro sheet inside the briefcase. You can cut the sheet into three strips or keep it as one large piece--this is up to you. Cut the top sheet of Velcro into three strips and stick them on the bottom of your three guitar pedals.

6. Staple foam pieces inside the lid of the briefcase with a staple gun. Cut smaller pieces of foam and cover the back of all the case latches you installed in Step 3. The foam pieces inside the lid will help to protect and secure the pedals when you close the briefcase, thus keeping them safe during transport.

7. Place the pedals on the Velcro sheet in the bottom of the briefcase and hook them up. Get ready to rock and roll!
