Pharmaceutical sales representatives are responsible for visiting medical practices and hospitals to provide education to doctors and staff about medications. 1. Tailor your resume to the pharmaceutical industry. Most pharmaceutical companies require candidates to have a minimum of two years outside sales experience, preferably business to business experience. Examples of this type of experience include, selling insurance to businesses or selling supplies to businesses. 3. Search for jobs at BioSpace. This is a company that specializes in posting bio-tech and pharmaceutical sales jobs. They also post information about career fairs across the country, which allows you to get in front of pharmaceutical sales recruiters.
4. Apply for jobs at sites like Monster and HotJobs. They post hundreds of pharmaceutical jobs. You can also post your resume, allowing recruiters to contact your directly.
5. Work with a pharmaceutical sales recruiter. Check out companies like Pharmaceutical Sale Recruiters that specialize in placing potential pharmaceutical sales representatives. Plus, they won't release your information without your consent--ensuring your current employer doesn't find out that you're searching for jobs.
