Reset The Combination On A Briefcase

Many briefcases have combination locks as a security feature.

A briefcase is a popular accessory for businessmen and businesswomen because it allows them to carry important documents and even laptops in a secure fashion that many consider stylish. Because briefcases are thin, they fit into cramped locations, such as under desks and tables, which makes them ideal in the workplace. Briefcases can have different locking mechanisms. Some require a key while many use a numbered combination lock. When the owner enters his combination into the lock and presses the appropriate buttons, the briefcase opens.

Instructions

Resetting

1. Dial the current combination into the lock. Push the unlock button(s) in the opposite direction you would slide it to open the case. If there are two buttons, you typically push them away from one another.

2. Hold the button(s) in place and enter the new combination into the lock.

3. Release the button(s) when you have finished dialing.

4. Spin the lock and dial in your new combination to test it.

5. Consult the owners manual or manufacturer for reset information if this method does not work.
