Instructions
1. Bring your purse with the broken strap to your local fabric supply store. Find embroidery thread that best matches the thread used on your straps. Typically this thread will match the color of leather that the strap is made of.
2. Purchase a medium-gauge embroidery needle that will fit through the thread holes of your broken strap.
3. Measure out 18 inches of embroidery thread and cut. Thread your embroidery needle. Leaving about 6 inches of thread to spare. Knot the end of your thread.
4. Line the bottom of the strap back to your purse where it was once connected. Match the thread holes of your strap to the ones on your purse. These holes are leftover from the commercial sewing machines. Because your purse is made of leather you will be able to easily locate and rethread these holes back together.
5. Starting on the inside of your purse, push the needle through the leather where you would like to reattach your purse strap. Pull the thread all the way through. Locate the thread holes on your strap. Push your needle through the top left hole and pull until the strap meets the purse.
6. Push your needle back down through the top right hole of your strap and back through the purse.
7. Push your needle back through the inside of the purse and through the bottom left hole of the strap.
8. Push your needle back and forth through the remaining holes of your strap through your purse and back through.
9. Finish your thread on the inside of your purse and secure with a knot.
