Funtainer, Fogo and Thermos are great products for children because they are made from stainless steel and you don't have to worry about BPA toxins. Sadly, they only come with two straws and accidents do happen. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Occasionally you may be able to find these straws on eBay or Craigslist. Be sure to check these sites first before going to step two.
2. If you were not able to find them in the resources from step 1, you will have to contact Thermos by telephone because you cannot even order these directly from their site.
3. To contact Thermos by phone dial their Consumers Customer Service at
1-800-831-9242.
4. Be sure to order several straws and store them in your kitchen cabinet somewhere so that you don't have to go through this again. Perhaps make a suggestion that they start selling replacement straws online or in stores where the thermos is available.
5. To sterilize these straws, boil them in water for 3 minutes on your kitchen stove top in a small sauce pan. Be sure not to let the plastic melt. Always use a pipe cleaner to clean any residue with soap and water, these straws can get moldy and may be very unhealthy.
6. Remember stainless steel is best, do not substitute these thermoses for aluminum containers because they do pose a health risk.
7. Beware of washing your Funtainers in the dishwasher as the straws may melt and the little blue rubber band type piece may melt in the dishwasher if the heat is too high or it gets caught on the heating element.
