Set Combination Locks On An Expandable Briefcase

Use the reset button located inside the briefcase to change an expendable briefcase lock combination.

Expendable briefcase combination locks are usually reset by pressing and holding down on the lock unit's reset button. This reset button can be found in different places on each briefcase, and is sometimes disguised to blend in with the rest of the briefcase.

Instructions

1. Dial the current briefcase lock combination and open the briefcase. For a brand new briefcase, check the owner's manual for the default combination.

2. Use a flashlight to peer into the briefcase and locate the briefcase lock's reset mechanism. This is usually found right behind the lock or right beside the lock on the inside of the briefcase. The reset mechanism is usually very small and sometimes is the same color of the briefcase, making it difficult to press on accident.

3. Press and hold down the reset mechanism button. Depending on the size of the reset button, you may need to use a straightened paperclip or another such object to press the button.

4. Dial the new combination on the briefcase lock's dial. Make sure to hold down the reset button while dialing the new combination.

5. Release the reset mechanism and dial the combination lock to a random setting. Then test the new combination to see if it worked. If it does not, set the combination again and make sure the reset button is fully held down while setting the new combination.
