Use Yahoo Briefcase

Yahoo briefcase example


Yahoo Briefcase is a web-based storage for photos, recordings, music and documents. This article will teach you set up and store your desired items as well as retrieve and display files from any computer.


Instructions


Use Yahoo Briefcase


1. Create a (free) Yahoo account or sign in if you have an account. (Click "Forgot" information, if you have an Yahoo account but cannot remember your password or user name. Yahoo will email you the information.)


2. Sign in to your Yahoo Briefcase account. Or, go to the Yahoo Homepage and click "Briefcase". You will need your user name and password to enter Yahoo briefcase.


3. Select "Create folder". Name your folder according to the type of file(s) you will be using. This is an optional step, but provides greater organization when uploading files.


4. Click the "Add file" to begin storing files. Files can be stored in folders or individually by name. Add one file at a time and allow sufficient time for each to be uploaded. Check that your newly uploaded files appear on the Yahoo Briefcase web page.


5. Click "My folders", or the specific folder you want to select from the left hand side of your screen. (This will depend on where you want to upload your file). You should see all files stored within a folder or files listed individually on a page. Each file will appear as a "Clickable" link.


6. Check the box next to each file. Click "Move" to move any document to another file folder within Yahoo Briefcase.


7. Click "Edit" to make changes to your Yahoo Briefcase files. The pencil icon is found on the right hand column.


8. Check the appropriate box next to the file you wish to copy. Click "copy" to copy the file to another folder in Yahoo Briefcase.


9. Check the box next to the file that you would like to delete. Click "delete" to move the file to the trash.


10. Click "share with friends" to share files(s) with other individuals or businesses.
