Sync Quickbooks Files Between Two Computers

Sync your QuickBooks files with a USB flash drive.

QuickBooks files are used by the Intuit QuickBooks program to keep track of your financial information. If you wish to edit your QuickBooks files on multiple computers, you will have to sync them so that you are always working on the most up-to-date version of your files. Windows comes with a preinstalled application called Briefcase that allows you to sync your files between multiple computers.

Instructions

1. Insert the USB flash drive into your first computer.

2. Right-click on your desktop and go to "New" and then "Briefcase."

3. Select your QuickBooks files by clicking on each one while holding down the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard.

4. Copy the QuickBooks files and paste them into the briefcase you just created.

5. Copy the briefcase over to your USB flash drive.

6. Take out the USB flash drive and put it into your second computer.

7. Make any changes to your files on the USB flash drive. When you are done, save your QuickBooks files and put the USB flash drive back into the first computer.

8. Right-click on the briefcase on the USB flash drive and select "Update All."
