Make Bingo Bags

Make a drawstring bag to carry your things to bingo.

Make a barrel-type, drawstring bingo bag to carry your bingo card daubers in convenient outside pockets. Inside, store and carry your glue stick, change and, of course, your lucky charm.

Instructions

1. Cut a circle from patterned fabric, 1/2 inch larger around than the coffee can cover.

2. Cut a 22-by-12 inch piece of plain fabric.

3. Cut a 22-by-6 inch piece of patterned fabric. Fold over 1/2 inch at the top. Stitch down to hem.

4. Lay patterned piece on top of plain piece, matching bottom edges. Mark off approximately 3-inch sections on the patterned piece. Sew from top hem of patterned piece to raw bottom edge, through both thicknesses of fabric, to create sectioned pockets.

5. Fold two-layered fabric piece in half with right sides together, and sew side seam. Zig-zag for extra stability. Fold under top of plain piece to make a 3/4-inch casing. Stitch down.

6. Snip a small hole in outside of casing, and make hand-sewn stitches around the edge of the hole to prevent raveling. Attach a safety pin to the end of a 28-inch length of drawstring. Work the pin with the drawstring through the casing, going into the hole, through the casing and back out the hole. Remove pin and knot ends of drawstring together.

7. Sew patterned piece, with right sides together, circle to bottom of bag, easing circle to fit. Zig-zag seam. Slip coffee can cover inside to serve as the base of bag.
