Set Combination Locks On A Brief Case

The security of the contents of your briefcase is important considering at times these contents may include your laptop or legal documents. Keeping it safe means taking necessary precautions. In order to do this, you must set the combination lock on your briefcase to a new combination that is not the one assigned to it by the manufacturer. Using the original manufacturer's setting can be dangerous because they may use one specific combination for all of their briefcases of this particular model.

Instructions

1. Open up your briefcase. You can accomplish this by using the manufacturer's designated combination located on the product manual or on the briefcase tag attachment. Set each side with the three numbers used by the manufacturer, and push the unlock buttons outward at the same time.

2. Reset the combination lock switch on the left side of the briefcase. You will find it behind the lock. Push and hold the switch all the way to the left, as you set the three number combination for the left side. Once your numbers are set for your desired combination for this side, release your switch.

3. Reset the combination lock switch on the right side of the briefcase. It is in the same location on this side as with the left side behind your lock. Push and hold the switch all the way to the right as you set the three number combination for the right side. Once your numbers are set for your desired combination for this side, release your switch.

4. Close your briefcase and scramble the numbers on each side. Now start with the left and set the combination lock to your new three numbers. Do the same for the right. Now push the unlock buttons outward on both sides at the same time. Your briefcase will now reopen.
