Marriage gifts can be for the groom or for the couple.
A person's wedding day is sometimes the most important day of his life, and so it is appropriate to give marriage gifts to men--especially if you are the bride or best man, or a groomsman, close friend or family member. However, while a gift should be geared toward the interests, likes and personality of the groom receiving it, marriage gifts for men can also have an element of promoting togetherness for the newlywed couple.
Entertainment
Many men are fans of some sport or another, so tickets to a favorite sports event or a favorite team may be a well-received marriage gift. Tickets could also be a good idea for men who enjoy the theater, or if the groom's favorite band is on tour. Alternatively, you may want to purchase something that can be useful in entertaining, such as a barbecue tool set or a grill, cocktail set or a poker game set.
Hobbies
Gifts related to a man's hobbies are always appreciated, and can be even more significant if the bride shares one of his hobbies. For example, if the couple plays golf, a new set of clubs or a golf course gift certificate could be a means of giving the newlyweds time together. However, purchasing a gift that will promote a man's hobbies and offer him some time alone to recharge can be beneficial to the marriage also. If he is a fisherman, a new pole might be the best gift; avid readers or book lovers may enjoy a copy of the newest publication by a favorite author; and woodworkers or those men who enjoy working with their hands may like a new set of tools or a specialty tool they may not consider buying for themselves.
Personal Gifts
Many people feel better and are more relaxed when they know they look good, and men usually want to look their best on their wedding day. Purchase a gift certificate for a massage and a facial at the local spa, or take the groom for a new haircut and maybe a manicure. Alternatively, create a gift basket with personal care items made specifically for men.
You may also choose to go with a personalized item such as monogrammed silver cuff links or a silly "groom" T-shirt with his name on it that he can wear to his bachelor party. Personalized flasks, glasses, sports memorabilia and even business paraphernalia like briefcases are also appropriate marriage gifts for men.
