Differences Between Real & Fake Gucci Handbags

Differences Between Real & Fake Gucci Handbags

Almost every woman dreams of one day carrying a Gucci bag, but many of us will never be able to afford that $1,500 or more price tag for a purse. Many women go after the luxury at a fraction of the price and purchase a knockoff Gucci bag. There are differences between a real and fake Gucci bag. Let me help you decide if the differences are big enough to skip on the knockoff. Does this Spark an idea?

Where Is It Manufactured

One of the main differences in a fake Gucci bag and a real Gucci bag is where the purse is made. A real Gucci bag is made in Italy; your knockoff more than likely is made in China. So when you are trying to tell the difference and you see, "Made in China," then it is clear that you are holding a fake.

Attention to Detail

Gucci purses have details that a knockoff purse will not, and if a knockoff has some of the details it will not have all. An authentic bag will have a style number and a four-to-six-digit serial number located inside the purse on the label, the Gucci design initials on each zipper, and a certificate of authenticity with the purse that also bears the serial number that is found inside the purse.

Quality

For the price a real Gucci purse costs, it is made with care and the best materials available. The stitching will be detailed and not glued down; a lot of knockoffs will just glue the stitching down. The material can sometime miss the mark when trying to make the signature Gucci design. Finally, look for threading that is starting to pull away in spots; a real Gucci bag will have every string perfectly in place.

Where You Buy It

Authentic Gucci purses are offered only at top stores like Neiman Marcus or Bergdorf Goodman, or directly from the Gucci store. If you are able to buy the purse on the street, out of a trunk, from a beauty shop or from a purse party; then the purse is clearly a fake. There are common places that sell fake Gucci purses, like Chinatown in New York or the garment district in Los Angeles.

Price

The greatest difference is the price you will pay for an authentic and a fake Gucci bag. You can get a pretty simple smaller real Gucci bag for around $900; for around $90 you can carry an oversized fake Gucci bag, and many people will not be able to tell the difference unless you let them thoroughly inspect it. A fake Gucci purse is the way to go. Just remember that selling fake purses is illegal, and so is buying them. You cannot be prosecuted for buying fake Gucci purses, but if law officials decided to do so they can confiscate them from you. However, they are not walking around like fashion police looking for women carrying fake Gucci purses.
