Most good laptop computer bags and backpacks come with padding already installed within them, but what if the padding gets removed, deteriorates or is just plain not enough? Then you add more. Luckily, computers don't need a rare, special type of padding to keep them safe from accidents: if it's soft and you have enough of it, chances are that it will get the job done.
Instructions
Steps
1. Find padding you think will work. Any type of foam, such as acoustic foam, will usually suffice and can be either found in your basement or bought cheaply from a packing store, moving company, or even Amazon.com. You could also use commercially-sold foam mats for kids, or cut up a foam exercise mat.
2. Insert the foam in your computer bag. There are a number of ways to proceed. If you cut the foam to the right size, chances are you can wedge it in such a way that you don't need to "attach" it to the bag. If not, you might consider using duct tape or buying Velcro straps.
3. Test out the results. Don't drop the bag with your computer inside, but make sure that when you insert the computer, the sides and bottom of it are resting comfortably against support.
