Treat Leather Bags

Use a cleaner especially made for leather when cleaning a leather purse.

Leather bags and purses require a certain amount of TLC to keep their exterior shiny and supple. Cleaning leather requires the use of special cleaning products made for leather to keep these natural hides from drying out. Leather tends to become moisture deprived and can form cracks over time, leaving it look brittle and old. To further protect the leather bag, treating with a leather conditioner saves it from cracking, while restoring shine. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Empty your leather bag completely. Wipe dust and dirt from the interior and exterior of the leather bag with a clean, soft cloth.

2. Apply 1 tsp. leather cleaner to a clean cloth. Wipe the exterior of the bag with the leather cleaner, using small rotating motions. Fold the cloth to expose a clean area and add another 1 tsp. to the cloth. Continue wiping until you have cleaned the entire bag. With a clean cloth, wipe off any residue left by the cleaner. Wait 30 minutes before applying the leather conditioner.

3. Place 1 tsp. leather conditioner to a clean cloth. Wipe the conditioner on the leather bag in the same manner as the cleaner, covering the entire bag. Allow the conditioner to soak into the bag for 20 minutes before placing items into the bag.
