Change A Briefcase Combination Lock

Changing a briefcase combination lock is a fairly easy task, provided you have the original combination on hand. It is always wise to change the combination from the factory default, if you just purchased the briefcase. It is also wise to change the combination, if the briefcase is a gift. You want to pick something easy to remember, and something that only you know. Don't hand out your combination to anyone. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Get the original combination for the briefcase lock. You'll need this to change it. This could be as simple as finding the piece of paper it's written on, or as difficult as trying every combination until it opens. Either way, you need the combination to change the lock without breaking it.

2. Dial in the correct combination. If the briefcase opens, then you're good to go. Close the briefcase and dial the combination in again.

3. Slide the buttons the opposite direction from the direction you slide them to open the briefcase. Do this with the current combination dialed in, or it won't work.

4. Dial in your new combination. Make it whatever you want, but try to make it drastically new from the current combination. Also, make it something you'll easily remember, but avoid anything obvious such as birthdays or anniversaries.

5. Release the buttons, when you have dialed in your new combination, spin the dials and re-enter your new combination. If the briefcase opens, you did it. If not, try it again.
