Sync An External Flash

Sync your external flash drive files with your computer.

External flash drives are a great way to carry around all of your important documents in your pocket so you have everything you need no matter where you are. Unfortunately, it can be a pain to keep track of which computer has the most up-to-date version of the file you want to use. Windows has a built-in file syncing feature called Briefcase that allows you to sync your external flash files with your computer files so that you always have the most up to date files on your external flash drive as well as your computer.

Instructions

1. Right-click on your desktop, go to "New" and click on "Briefcase."

2. Copy your files that you want to sync into the briefcase.

3. Copy the briefcase onto your external flash drive.

4. Right-click on the briefcase (the briefcase on the flash drive if you changed the files on the flash drive or the briefcase on your computer if you changed the files on your computer), and click "Update All."
