Open A Briefcase Lock

Briefcase locks feature a numeric combination, typically three digits, built into a sliding latch on either side of the edge of the case. When the number sequence is entered correctly, the latches slide outward and snap open the locks, allowing access to the contents of the case. Once you know open the case, be sure to write down and save the combination numbers in a safe location in case you forget them. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Set the briefcase on its side with the latches facing you.

2. Dial the three-digit combination on each latch using the serrated metal wheels with the numbers embossed on them. Be sure to dial the numbers one at a time, left to right.

3. Place your thumbs on the two latch buttons and slide outwards to spring open the latches.

4. Lock the briefcase by closing the case, snapping the latches until they click shut, then turning the numeric wheels on the combination locks to scramble the numbers.
