Yahoo Messenger
The Internet has created a variety of alternatives to traditional communication methods such as letters and telephone calls. Email, chat rooms, instant messaging and tweets provide many different methods and speeds of communication. Yahoo Messenger is a free instant messaging service available to any Yahoo user. Messenger also includes the ability to connect with users on the Windows Live Messenger service, Office Communications Server, Lotus Sametime and Reuters Messaging users.
Instructions
1. Open your preferred Web browser and go to the Yahoo Messenger download page. Click the "Download Now" button to download the latest installation file.
2. Open the installation file on your computer. Click "Next" and follow the prompts to install Messenger. Uncheck the options to install the Yahoo toolbar or make Yahoo your homepage unless these options interest you.
3. Open Yahoo Messenger using the shortcut on your Desktop or in the "Start" menu to start the program. Log in with your Yahoo ID and password to verify that the program was installed correctly.
