Clean Stains From A Suede Purse

Clean Stains From a Suede Purse

While suede is a luxurious material used to make beautiful purses, it can be difficult to clean. In general, suede should be professionally dry cleaned. However, it is possible to clean stains from your suede purse by yourself. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Use a suede brush to sweep away loose, dry dirt. Scrub the brush lightly and it will also restore some of the suede's natural nap. If you don't have a suede brush available, a pencil eraser makes a good alternative.

2. Add cornmeal to the brush, if it's a tough stain or one that's been on the purse for long. Apply the cornmeal directly into the brush and scrub the stained area lightly. The cornmeal will help lift the stains to the surface

3. Lay a paper towel or microfiber cloth over the purse for a wet stain. Blot the purse with the cloth to soak up the liquid.

4. Apply a small amount of white vinegar to a damp cloth. Gently rub the stained area and allow it to air dry.

5. Scrub the stain with a nail file. Nail files work best for dust or light dirt stains from normal wear and tear. Simply hold the nail file and scrub it back-and-forth lightly on the stained area.
