Get Rid Of Mold Smell Off Drapes

Your drapes may be useless with a mold smell.

The smell of mold can be extremely tough to deal with in some circumstances. One of these circumstances happens to be when you have a mold issue on fabrics, such as drapes. If you leave drapes sitting around in an area where moisture can build up between the layers or if they have been exposed to a particularly damp environment, then mold might form. Being exposed to other items with mold spores present can also cause a mold smell on your drapes. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Remove any mold that is still present on the drapes. Outside, brush down the drapes with a stiff brush.

2. Vacuum your drapes, using the fabric attachment of your vacuum cleaner. Once you're finished, throw away the contents of your vacuum cleaner so the mold spores do not spread.

3. Wash the drapes in diluted lemon juice to kill the mold or have the drapes dry cleaned.

4. Hang the drapes up on your outside clothes line. When you allow the sun to dry the drapes, it helps get rid of any remaining mold spores, and the breeze will freshen the drapes.
