What Do You Make Potpourri Satchels Out Of

Potpourri satchels can be made from any dried, scented materials that smell pleasant to you. The materials must be completely dried before bundling them into satchels to prevent mildew from forming.

Flower Pieces

Pieces of flowers are mixed into potpourri for sachets. They include carnation and rose petals, centers from sunflowers and lilies, and hibiscus pods.

Herbs

Herbs like lemon verbena and lemon balm, chamomile, lavender, thyme, mint and rosemary are commonly found in sachets since they are very fragrant.

Spices

Sweeter spices---like cinnamon, pumpkin, ginger and apple---as well as pungent ones---think cloves, orris and sassafras---are good materials since they give off strong aromas.

Leaves

Whole or crushed leaves are frequently tucked into sachets. Common choices include leaves from geraniums, eucalyptus trees and sage plants.

Essential Oils

Essential oils that are used in aromatherapy are also popular for sachets. Among them are vanilla, peach, balsam, orange and cedar.
