Mount Saddlebags On A Honda 600

Although most motorcyclists prefer to travel lightly, there are times when a little additional storage space can be ideal. Whether you ride a Honda CBR600RR sport bike or a Shadow 600 cruiser, mounting a set of throw-over saddlebags onto your motorcycle can provide the capacity needed to carry extra gear without the need for extensive installation work. As an added benefit, the saddlebags can be removed just as easily once you arrive at your destination, preventing would-be thieves from rummaging through your belongings.

Instructions

1. Lay the saddlebags over the motorcycle's passenger seat, setting the bag's center strap squarely over the seat. Reposition the Velcro flaps on the center strap to adjust the saddlebags' position on the sides of the motorcycle as needed, to prevent the bags from touching the rear wheel or exhaust.

2. Squeeze the center of the saddlebag's quick-disconnect connectors and pull the fastening straps off the saddlebags. Wrap the looped end of the straps around the rear passenger pegs or the motorcycle's frame. Pass the connector ends of the straps through the straps' looped ends. Press the strap's connectors into the saddlebags' connectors until they lock into place. Tighten the straps as needed to fasten the saddlebags in place with the sliding adjusters on the straps.

3. Tug on the saddlebags to ensure that they are completely secured onto the motorcycle. Check that the saddlebags do not touch the motorcycle's rear wheel or exhaust. Cut the excess material off the loose end of the fastening straps with scissors.

4. Remove the saddlebags when not needed. Squeeze the center of the quick-release strap connectors to separate the fastening straps from the saddlebags. Pull the saddlebags off the motorcycle's passenger seat. Leave the fastening straps in place to easily mount the saddlebags again.
