Diy Bubble Bags

Bubble wrap protects your items with soft padding.

Made of bubble wrap material, bubble bags provide you with convenient and padded pouches for storing, shipping and protecting your fragile goods. The bubbles that make up the bags serve as air pockets, providing shock absorption and making it safer to carry and put away trinkets, electronics and other delicate items. Making your own bubble bags at home enables you to store, ship and protect all of your delicate items with ease. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Measure and cut two 12-by-12-inch squares of bubble wrap. Alternatively, cut one square 4 inches longer on one side to create an envelope-style bag with a fold-over top.

2. Lay one of the squares flat with the bubble side facing downward.

3. Squeeze a line of hot glue along the bottom and side edges of the square of bubble wrap.

4. Place the second square directly on top of the other, with the bubble side facing up. Make sure to press the edges together evenly. Let the bag dry for about an hour before using, and don't overfill it. Bubble bags are designed to be storage bags, not carryalls.

5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 to create an assortment of bubble bags in different sizes. For larger bags designed to store heavier items, use a double dose of glue. Lay down the inner line first, and wait till it has dried before applying a second, parallel line of glue near the bubble wrap's outer edge to seal the bag on three sides.
