Care For Atlas Leather

The Atlas Company makes a variety of leather business and travel items.

The Atlas Company has manufactured leather goods, including luggage and briefcases, since 1945. Based in Boston, the company is aimed at high-end business people and travelers and offers a five-year warranty on all products. While the leather used in Atlas products is considered to be highly durable, leather is also a porous material, which requires some basic care and maintenance to prevent staining and damage to the leather. Caring for Atlas leather products takes only a few basic steps. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Use a clean, soft cloth to gently brush off dirt and debris on a regular basis to keep the leather clean and prevent debris from becoming ground into the leather.

2. Mix together a few drops of dishwashing detergent with 1 cup warm water. Dip a clean, soft cloth into the mixture and gently wipe the surface of the leather. Do not saturate the cloth or leather, as leather stains very easily and should not be wet excessively. Alternatively, use a small amount of leather cleaner on a clean, soft cloth to wipe the leather surface.

3. Dry and buff the leather with a soft cloth.

4. Mix together 1 cup rubbing alcohol with 1 cup water for stubborn stains on the Atlas leather product. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and scrub the stain gently. Wipe dry.

5. Apply a small amount of leather conditioner, available at hardware stores, home repair stores and some dry cleaning stores, to a clean cloth. Wipe in circular motions over the leather and allow to dry thoroughly. Leather conditioner will help protect the leather from staining and exposure to other elements.
