Set The Combination On A Tsa40 Travel Sentry Cable Lock

TSA Travel Sentry locks are designed with special codes that security agents in airports use to quickly open luggage for inspection purposes. The codes allow any security officer that has the correct tools to open your luggage and facilitate a faster luggage inspection time. Owners can change the combinations of Travel Sentry locks from the factory default setting to a number combination of their choice. If you forget your combination, or for some reason need to change it for security purposes, you can do so in a few simple steps.

Instructions

1. Set the lock dials to the factory default setting, which is 0-0-0 for three number combination locks and 0-0-0-0 for four number combination locks. If you have chosen a combination already and wish to change it, set the lock dials to that combination.

2. Insert a pen into the reset button or bar located on the bottom of the cable lock. Push the button in all of the way, as far as it will go.

3. Change the numbered dials to your new combination while you keep pushing the button down all of the way. Release the button once you have changed the numbered dials to the new combination. To lock it, turn the dials and change the numbers from your chosen combination to random numbers.
