Use Yahoo Email

Email programs let you send and receive information over the World Wide Web.


Yahoo! Mail is a free Web-based email program. With it, you can send and receive messages, reply and forward to messages and send and receive attachments -- including files and pictures. All you need to get started is a Yahoo! account.


Instructions


1. Navigate to Yahoo! Mail at mail.yahoo.com. and sign into your account with your Yahoo! ID and password. Click "Sign In."


2. Click "Compose Message" to write an email. Enter the recipient's email address in the To field, add a subject and type the message in the large blank field.


3. Click the paperclip icon with the word "Attachments" above the message field to attach a file or folder to the message. Click "Attach Files" and browse to the file(s) you want to attach. Click "Open" to add it to your message.


4. Click "Send" at the top of your message screen to send the message.


5. Click "Inbox" in the left column to view any new messages you received.


6. Click the subject of a message to view its contents. Scroll down and click "Reply" if you want to reply to the person who sent it to you. Click "Forward" if you want to forward it on to another recipient. Click the "Trashcan" icon if you want to send it to your Trash folder. Click "Delete" if you want to delete it. Deleted mail will go to the Trash folder.


7. Click the "Trashcan" icon to view its contents. If you want to delete any items there, click the check box in front of a message. Then click "Delete" to erase it from your email permanently.


8. Click "Sent" in the left column to view the messages you sent to others.


9. Click the "Contacts" tab to add new contacts or import contacts from another program.


To add a yahoo email contact (address), click contacts, add contact in upper-left-hand corner. Fill in the information as requested. Click "Save" to save the information.
