Allegiant Airlines Inside Baggage Rules

Pack your carry-on bags properly to avoid needing to reorganize.

Allegiant is a relatively small airline that offers flights to and from a variety of domestic locations, such as Chicago, San Diego, Des Moines, Eugene and Orlando. When you fly with Allegiant Air, make sure your carry-on (or inside) baggage follows the rules regarding number, size and contents. This will help you avoid delays and frustration at the airport.

Number

You are allowed to bring two pieces of baggage into the cabin with you on an Allegiant Airlines flight. You may have one carry-on bag; this is generally a relatively small suitcase. In addition to the carry-on bag, you may also bring a personal item onto the plane. Examples of a personal item include a laptop in its case, a purse or a briefcase. Some items do not count toward your carry-on bag or your personal item allowance and you may bring them on the plane in addition to your two pieces of baggage. These include food to eat on the plane, a coat, a book or an umbrella.

Size

Your carry-on bag must measure no more than 9 in. high, 14 in. wide and 22 in. long, including wheels, handles and any other protruding items. It must fit under the seat in front of you or in an overhead compartment. Your personal item must measure no more than 9 in. high, 16 in. wide and 19 in. long, including wheels, handles and any other protruding items. It must fit under the seat in front of you.

Contents

The Transportation Security Administration forbids certain items in your carry-on luggage. These include many potentially dangerous or harmful items. Specific items you may not carry on the plane include box cutters, knives, razors, baseball bats, golf clubs, firearms and ammunition, crowbars, nunchakus, explosive materials, certain chemicals and many flammable items. You may bring non-flammable liquid on the plane if the container is 3.4 oz. or smaller.
