Plan fun dress up games for a group of girls.
Girls who love to dress up will enjoy a dress up-themed birthday party or social gathering. Prepare a few games for the party that will give the girls a chance to earn prizes to take home as mementos of the event. Prize ideas include dress up clothes, costume jewelry and children's makeup sets.
Easy Games
Easy dress up games will loosen up the party guests and get the girls ready to play. Place a box of dress up clothes and accessories in the middle of the room. Blindfold two girls and call out an item, such as a necklace, shirt or wig. The first girl to reach the box and find the correct item wins a small prize. Put a twist on the classic game "Hot Potato" with a game of "Hot Dress up Outfit." The girls will pass a dress up outfit and plastic shoes around the circle instead of a potato. The girl who wins the game wins the outfit and the shoes.
Memory Games
Test the girls' memory by playing a couple of memory games. Place a couple of dress up items on a large tray and tell the girls to take a good like at the items. Some item ideas include a tiara, tube of lipstick, necklace and ring. Take the tray out of the room. Award a prize to the girl who can remember the most items on the tray. An alternate version of the game is to remove one item from the tray when you take it out of the room. Bring the tray back in and the girl who guesses the missing item first wins a small prize.
Contests
The girls can arrive at the event dressed in their favorite dress up outfit or you can provide a box of clothes from them to use. Create a runway using a long piece of butcher paper and have each girl show off her outfit by walking down the "catwalk." Select two or three adults to be judges. Award the girls prizes for the best outfit, best accessories, best hair and all over best dress up outfit.
Relay Races
Divide the girls into two teams and give each team a briefcase. Place a dress up outfit, pair of shoes and a wig in each briefcase. Mark a starting line and place a run-to line 20 feet away. The first player in each team must put on the entire outfit from the briefcase, carry the briefcase to the run-to line and back to the starting line when you say "Race." The next girl must put on the outfit and do the same thing. The first team to finish the race wins the game. The girls can play the game individually to see who can complete the race the fastest if you have enough dress up outfits.
